Seal of Confession
Jon Brownridge
After the death of his young wife, Marcel Dion trains for the priesthood and is assigned as Pastor to Maplewood Creek, a small, isolated village on the banks of the St. Croix River. His new life seems to be idyllic, but his euphoria is shattered when his very first penitent confesses to murder. After seeking advice from a colleague and from his bishop, Marcel finds that all is not as it seems, and he is thrust into a tangle of mystery and intrigue. A bizarre act of vandalism in the churchyard seems to be a warning. Unsure of whom to trust, the priest finds himself at the centre of a dramatic arrest and then a rescue attempt in the St. Croix River. As new evidence comes to light, Marcel knows he must decide for himself whether the Seal of Confession can take precedence over his moral and legal obligation to report a serious crime.
