Sandpeople

Crystalline bushes from another world are alive in the Arizona desert. Their presence draws adventurers, scientists, and government agents. When the plants spawn a hive of mechanical creatures ? call them starbots ? military forces are dispatched to contain the threat, and old friends are reunited in the cause. An anxious standoff is negotiated to keep the peace. But the bots are aggressive, they're looking for something, and the need human help. That's when the killing starts, and the dead arise.
