The Corn Dog Trilogy
Cereza Dolis
In the vein of the Cornetto Trilogy and containing more books than the Hitchhiker's Trilogy Boxset, The Corn Dog Trilogy began as a simple story of a boyish atheist who finds a Christian in love with her and the drug rape attempt that turned them both into superheroes. It drifted into a full superhero team and led to 32 short stories while awaiting the birth of a goddess. The second book is a parody of the wimpy kid/dork diary genre, replacing silly childish humor and comics with darkness and the loss of innocence as a 12-year-old boy struggles with a female bully, a long distance relationship and crossing into another world to stop a tragedy. Then in the final book, a parody of Walking Tall, a twenty-year-old couple reunites in their racist small town after three years. One is a transgender cosplayer addicted to improvisational games, the other is an elemental mage who has come to see his mother's grave in Missouri. Oh, and pirates...
