The book concerns social, economic, cultural and political life of the Fur People centuries BC: ethnic origin, interactions with other groups and geographic distribution, (migrations). They maintain the Old Testament was brought to Moses while he lived in the Fur sacred land in and around Jabel Marra, which is believed to be the birth place of all religions. The book tells about the founding of the Great Fur Sultanate that expanded into a sprawling empire, and the causes of its demise. It tells about annexation of Darfur to Sudan and its marginalization and neglect by the colonial rulers as well as by the Sudanese. It describes the atrocities committed against the innocent unarmed men, women and children in the waves of genocide manned by armed Arab militias and the Sudanese army. It closes with brief remarks on possibilities foor redress, or choice of either of two options: equitable citizenship or return to the Darfur State.
