12-year-old Teddy Cooper was struck by lightning while sitting a tree. He goes into cardiac arrest, but resuscitated back to life. Following this near-death experience, he is able to travel 3-minutes-27-seconds time into the future, or the amount of time he was dead. He uses the time element to take money from a bank vault to help a poor classmate's family, pranks a school bully, and warns a classroom full of students of an oncoming tornado, thus saving their lives.
