Thrown To The Wolves

"Morning comes, chickadees call to each other in the pines. The air is crisp, and fog has settled at the tips of the trees. Myra stretches her painful limbs; her numb booted foot bumping into something. She looks up. A wolf stands at her feet; its feral eyes bearing into hers. Scrambling back, she slides into Layrn and he yelps. Myra freezes, wolves surround them in a circle.
