Selah

A busy life does not mean a fruitful life. We often measure the quality of our lives by the quantity of the things we do. Nevertheless, quantity does not always mean quality; a busy life does not always mean a healthy spiritual life. There is, indeed, a need to withdraw ourselves from the busyness of our lives. Our soul longs for a selah: a need to pause, think, and listen to the still small voice of God. Selah is a key word in the Book of Psalms. Whether it be a musical note or a poetic element, selah reminds us of our need to pause. Without it, we would not appreciate the beauty of each psalm. Without it, we would miss the richness of the message each psalm contains. This book is a product of the author's personal pausing.
