Jon Burke and his two closest friends are deer-hunting in Michigan's Upper Peninsula when they meet some interesting people. The women have been brought to the United States under false pretenses and are victims of human trafficking. When Jon, Donovan, and Larry decide to help the young women, Burke experiences violence and loss of things near and dear to him. Before it's over, Burke does things he regrets and places himself and the women he tries to help, in peril. William Morrison gives Burke advice and counsel and saves his career in the process.
