Weenie Kleegan

It's the late 1960's. Torn by the horrors of the Vietnam War and reopening wounds of racial injustice, America is experiencing a violent awakening of social conscience. Beneath this canopy of strife, a boy called Weenie Kleegan begins his growth to manhood in a small town in the Ozark Mountains. Shy and timid, Weenie has no confidence. But, thanks to his mother and his beloved Grandpa Two Bears, he becomes a voracious reader, a sound thinker, and maybe just a little bit wise. After a night of binge-watching war movies, Weenie joins the Navy, a decision that takes him on a winding path through love, madcap adventures, the cockpit of a fighter jet, and (just maybe) a little glimpse of heaven.
