David is the pastor of the largest church in Jacksonville, Florida. From all appearances, he is success. However, he carries a secret that he feels he can no longer hide from the world. David is bipolar and, though he has managed to hide his illness for years, his world is about to fall apart.
When his illness becomes public knowledge through a series of events, he faces losing his church to misunderstanding and prejudice. A tragedy forces him to spend a year in a psychiatric hospital where he has to deal with the loss of his church, and potentially his marriage. While in the hospital, he begins a journey that will determine whether he will be able to live in a world that looks at him with misunderstanding, fear, and a startling lack of compassion.
This is a story of living with secrets, loss, abandonment and the stigma of being mentally ill. It's also a story of faith: how do you find faith in God when God seems to have deserted you to your fate?
