Whidbey, the lovely little island in Puget Sound, was a small world that could be quickly filled with cruel gossip or haunting memories. Yet Ginger Cowan had stayed on long after Deuin MacPherson had married her, confessed on their wedding night he'd been unfaithful, and left for Chicago. She'd gone away to college, come back to open an antique shop and to make a good life for herself, now it seemed only her family's bitterness over the "betrayal" remained, naggingly reminding her that Devin had come back to Seattle...that at any minute he might walk back into her life.
