Life Lines

ABOUT THE BOOK This collection of poems evokes a more holistic and deeper outlook on the people, places, and things of everyday life, demonstrating how all of creation can lead to contemplation. These poems also highlight the plight of the poor and the oppressed, pleading for local and global peace and justice. They incite laughter with their playful, irreverent sense of humor. In short, these poems are guaranteed to entertain, provoke, and inspire. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Charles F. Mann, Ph. D., originally from Gloucester, MA, earned degrees from the University of Ottawa, the Boston Theological Institute/Saint John's Seminary, La Sorbonne, and l'Institut Catholique de Paris. He has worked extensively in Canada, Europe, and the United States as a priest, educator, linguist, translator, interpreter, and writer of both prose and poetry. For over the last 30 years, Dr. Mann has lived in San Francisco and has tutored in foreign languages at U. C. Berkeley. He is the author of the popular biography of an unconventional Frenchwoman, "Madeleine Delbrêl: A Life Beyond Boundaries," a collection of poems, "Love Lines," and the soon-to-be-published collection of essays, "The Spirituality of Everyday Life," as well as his memoirs, "The Life of an Inner-city Monk."
