The Outlaw Bible of American Essays

Brief Description: Like its highly acclaimed companions, "The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry" and "The Outlaw Bible of American Literature, " this edition is a prime for generational revolt and an enduring document of the visionary tradition of authenticity and nonconformity in American lives and letters. A raucous eruption of language and a showcase for the best essayists of our time, "The Outlaw Bible of American Essays" chronicles American history and measures the boundlessness of dissident thought. Biographical Note: Alan Kaufman edited the two previous Outlaw Bible editions, Literature and Poetry. He is also editor of Davka: Jewish Cultural Revolution, and author of The New Generation: Fiction for Our Time from America's Writing Programs and Jew Boy. He lives in San Francisco, California. Publisher Marketing: A new installment of a series that includes The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry and The Outlaw Bible of American Literature is a celebration of the nation's tradition of dissidence and nonconformity as it is reflected in lives and letters, in an anthology that includes pieces by such figures as Hunter S. Thompson, Paul Krassner, and Kathy Acker. Or Review Citations:

Werke von Alan Kaufman in englischer Sprache: Matches, a novel Drunken Angel, a memoir Jew Boy, a memoir Who Are We?, poems Straightjacket Elegies, poems The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry, an anthology The Outlaw Bible of American Literature, an anthology The Outlaw Bible of American Essays, an anthology The New Generation, an anthology In der Edition BAES ist 2013 der Gedichtband Zwangsjackenelegien in der Ubersetzung von Jurgen Schneider erschienen.
