The Mexican War and Its Warriors: Comprising a Complete History of all the Operations of the American Armies in Mexico, with Biographical Sketches & Anecdotes of the Most Distinguished Officers in the Regular Army & Volunteer Force Reprint edition

This war resulted in the U. S. acquisition of a vast area including California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona & New Mexico. This history was written shortly after the conclusion of the war and includes extracts from contemporary correspondence, and eye-witness reports. About 2/3rds of the volume covers the war, and the balance consists of biographies of some of the principals.
