The Method of Grace

We know from the Scripture that the work of Christ at the cross is applied by the Holy Spirit in the regeneration of man. But how does the Holy Spiritworks in the salvation of a sinner? What are the particulars of this work? In his traditional, Puritan style, John Flavel explains in wonderful and insightful details the biblical theology of the work of the Holy Spirit in salvation and sanctification. What is extraordinary about this book is its evangelistic fervor and its focused on the work of the Holy Spirit without diminishing the Person and work of Christ, who is "The Mercy," "The Desire of All Nations," "The Lord of Glory," and "The Consolation of Israel." This book has been originally published in 1857. Current edition has been proofread, typeset for eBook readers, and slightly updated for modern readers. About the author: John Flavel (1627-1691) was an English Presbyterian clergyman, puritan, and author. He studied theology at University College in Oxford, England, and started his ministry in 1650 at Diptford, Avon.
