While Their Loved Ones Served

I have a picture of my grandfather in his World War I uniform. It is hard to imagine the families waiting for the weekly newspaper for any news of what is happening on the many fronts. This war stepped into every portion of their lives with Victory Garden's being grown, war bonds being sold and the draft. At the same time there were contagious illnesses (my grandfather contracted the flu which led to pneumonia.) Compiled from newspapers throughout Utah.
