Her name was Abby and she worked at the bakery in town. That's how I knew her and that's all the police would care about if they were ever to question me about her death. However they never would, because if she were to die it would have been in a hospital bed struggling with injuries and complications associated with the victim of a hit and run accident. Was I the one driving that car? Absolutely not, the car in the security footage was... well it wasn't mine, and on the night of the accident I was already asleep. From what I've gathered the police report states that seventeen minutes past ten on April 10th of 2015 Abby had left the bakery where she worked. Because she had the closing shift she ended up staying later than usual and by that time at night that area of town is pretty dead. She stepped into the street and was struck by a vehicle, the details of which are unknown. She laid on the sidewalk for ten minutes before being spotted by the driver of a passing vehicle. Security footage from the bank across the street was only able to capture the moment she was propelled through the air, she lands in an obstructed area of the frame and the vehicle in question shows up as only a blur and a streak of light. It was the night after the accident when I went home and the real hell began. I had known what I was dealing with, I knew this was all my fault, and it wasn't until I got home and numbly collapsed into my chair that I realized; I had been cheated.
