"Superthief", Jack MacLean, burglarized 2000 homes up and down Florida's Gold Coast - from Miami to Gainesville. He stole an estimated $133,000,000 of cash, gold, and jewelry. Josh Fox's list of THE TOP 10 INFAMOUS CAT BURGLARS listed MacLean as the #1 American burglar of all time. Florida law enforcement still do not know how he circumvented the security system that had weight, motion, and heat sensors in a Johnson & Johnson heiress' home when he stole $1million of her jewelry. MacLean had homes in Vinalhaven Maine and Florida. He had a Cessna airplane, fancy cars, a Scarab speedboat, and a Hughes 300C helicopter - all purchased with stolen money. Jack MacLean was a Mellins Baby Food baby, as was Humphrey Bogart and Ruth Gordon (Harold and Maud). MacLean was eventually caught in Florida and served 7.5 years of a 15 year sentence for second degree burglary. He was caught again in Arizona and server 15 years of a 15 year sentence.
