Kate, Anna, and Jen were the Blunt Girls. Until Anna's two sisters disappeared mysteriously, leaving only Anna. At age 14, Anna Blunt has solved her first case with her local police department, fallen in love, and also found her lost sisters, using methods she can barely understand. Is she a dowser, finding lost things? Seems like it. To learn more about her new-found talent, Anna leaves her small Massachusetts town and accepts a scholarship to an exclusive private school, Salem Academy. But as Anna has learned, things are not always what they seem, especially in magickal Salem. The realistic police-detective in Anna can hardly believe that she now has a vodou-conjuring roommate, a clairvoyant student mentor, a headmistress who might just read minds, and a drop-dead-gorgeous jock downstairs who may possibly be demonic.
