He has also written and produced a play based on the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Contributor Bio: Morton, Karla Karla K. Morton, the 2010 Texas Poet Laureate and a member of the Texas Institute of Letters, is a celebrated poet, author, and storyteller. Her poetry collections include REDEFINING BEAUTY (Dos Gatos Press, 2009), Stirring Goldfish (Finishing Line Press, 2010), Names We've Never Known (Texas Review Press, 2010), and Karla K. Morton: New and Selected Poems (Texas Christian University Press, 2010). Described as "one of the more adventurous voices in American poetry," Morton has poems in descant, Concho River Review, Southwestern American Literature, Borderlands, Texas Poetry Calendar, Illya's Honey, REAL, and numerous other publications. A founding member of the Greater Denton Arts Council and the Denton Poets' Assembly, she is a member of the Western Writers of America, the Writer's League of Texas, and the Academy of American Poets. In her role as Texas Poet Laureate, Morton created the Little Town, Texas Tour, and logged thousands of miles across Texas to take poetry and the arts into schools across the state, focusing particularly on small towns underserved by the arts.
