My Life Through Poetry

Laura Genender, known online as Taera, died suddenly in 2008 at the age of 22. Her mother found many poems she wrote and put them together into this book. The poems, presented in the order in which Laura wrote them, provide a view of life as Laura saw it. The poems are wise beyond her years. Laura's writing wasn't limited to poetry. At the time of her death she was working for an online game company where one of her responsibilities was to write about different aspects of games. After Laura's company announced her death online, a google search of her name revealed hundreds of thousands of hits - even through there wasn't any such thing as twitter and the concept of "going viral" didn't exist. The number of posts about her, and tributes to her, was astounding. Laura impacted more lives than most people who live out their normal lifespan.
