Jane switches from a private Catholic school to the public high school in the small town of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. She wants to be one of the cool kids. Once she meets the Transistors, a local garage band with a hot lead guitarist, her dull life turns into a thrill ride with the party crowd. Jane has a car. Lucy, who always needs a ride, is suddenly Jane's new best friend. Lucy's boyfriend just happens to be the hot lead guitarist. This makes for an interesting new friendship.
