When the teacher asks him if he was going to take part in 'Sports Day' Alex informed his teacher that he had put his name down for all the days events. Alex is able to compete in all the events, winning some and losing others, but having his family and friend there with him on the day was all that he wanted. At the end of the day Alex is awarded a trophy for been the only child in his age group to take part in all events. This gives him the final shot of confidence. Walking off the stage as Alex walked towards his family he noticed them all standing ther with big smiles, John walked up to Alex and said,"Didn't i tell you to never give up on yourself," picking him up and giving him a big hug.
