The 30-Year Looking Glass is personal and industry-wide observation of transitions and perceptions within the American healthcare industry. It takes the reader on a journey through the two looking glasses of the author's experiences within the American healthcare industry; personal and professional. It presents how policy is made in America and identifies key health policy initiatives and law changes of the 19th and 20th century. It also defines the population of the uninsured and what actions have been taken to address the massive numbers of them. It gives a critique of the Healthcare Reform Bill of 2010 signed into law by President Obama and concludes with strategies envisioned to alleviate the burden of the uninsured on the American healthcare system.
