Journey of a Priest

Journey of a Priest
Father Andre LeRoux
I remember so clearly that morning in 1972, at St. Mary's and St. Cyprien's, in the west end of Toronto, receiving during the Eucharist a clear revelatory call to become a priest in the Church of God. That morning, the Lord reaffirmed my calling, first given to me when I was nine! Since then, I have questioned the Lord on many, many occasions, asking Him, "Why, Lord? I simply don't fit-in this unfaithful (to its original mandate in the 16th century) convoluted, bureaucracy." As the Apostle said, they had a "form" of piety but denied the power available to them. Slowly I began to see the wisdom of the Lord. It's not about me but about simply following the calling to follow Him. We are not called to experience success or failure but only to obey Him. Thank You, Jesus! I was born June 27, 1947 in Montreal, Canada to a French Canadian father and a Scottish mother, who met overseas during the second world war. I grew up with an older sister and brother. In 1979, I was ordained as a priest in the Anglican Church. I served in the diocese of Toronto until 2010, when my late wife, Brenda, and I joined the Anglican Network in Canada, founding Living Hope Christian Church. We were married 43 years. I have five adult children and eight grandchildren. Now retired, I spend time doing carpentry work and renovations to my home, as well as writing, missions, and preaching.
