Alex has been given a puppet theatre for his birthday. He has promised his teacher that he will present a play to the rest of his class the next day. The problem is that he hasn't thought of a good story yet! It's bedtime and Alex has only fifteen more minutes before his Father wants him upstairs. Alex is setting up the stage, scenery and puppets when his little brother, Adam, runs downstairs and into the room wanting to play. Adam begins to cry when Alex tries to make him go back to bed. His Father appears in the doorway looking cross and tells him he too must now go up to bed. Alex is very upset that his precious fifteen minutes has been wasted. He swishes closed the theatre's curtains and wishes that he could get away and have an adventure with his puppets. There must be magic in the air for suddenly his theatre and playroom are transformed into a desert island and Sam the sailor is standing on the beach calling to him. His adventures are about to begin and his puppets are about to come to life! But there are evil pirates about who want to capture the island and destroy the valuable rain forest. Will Alex be able to save the island and its people from the pirates? Will he ever get home at the end of the adventure................?
