Supernatural Exploration of Outer Space, Book 1: All Expectations Met

Alicia, the heroine, lived in a segregated society in Earth's future where 'ignorant' Christians could only work as farmers and the 'enlightened' of society had all the advantages in the mega-cities. Losing her mother at an early age, she grew up as an only child helping her father in all aspects of farm life, particularly fixing farm machines. Because of her maintenance skills, she enlisted in the Navy, where a desperation for good mechanics overcame society's apartheid. Alicia's ship was almost wiped out when lack of maintenance resulted in an antimatter explosion, exactly as God warned her in a dream. Alicia was initially charged with sabotage by her superior to cover his failure to allow her to prevent the accident. Based on a second dream, she escaped the Brig to save the ship from a riot of the ship's conscripted convicts. Led by her dreams, Alicia discovered an ore that purified both the crippled ship's air and Earth's atmosphere, and a new alloy that launched Earth's trans-light fleet. After her return from Eden, Alicia auctioned orphaned, dinosaur babies to Earth's zoos to fund several future space flights. Many anti-Christian evolutionists joined the return voyage to the planet Eden because their pet theory was threatened in many ways by the mere existence of that planet.
