Excerpt from Tapping the Well Within:
Writing Is Not Hard
There is a myth/story/picture in our world that says that the process of birthing words is as agonizing as the process of birthing young. Yet writing does not have to be painful.
When we are tapped into Spirit, communing with the deepest places within, writing becomes effortless and joyful. The words flow forth with ease, surprising even the writer, whose job becomes listening to, recording, and polishing the words that come
Interview with the Author
Why did you write this book?
Laugh. Actually, it wrote me. That's the way it usually happens. I was working on The Gift, which had been in the pipeline for a number of years, and all of a sudden here comes this other book, saying, "Write me first! Publish me first!" So I did.
What's it about?
On the surface, it's about using meditation as a gateway to creativity. The grounding meditation that I teach in the book is a very simple process, but the effects are tremendous.
You said that on the surface Tapping is about meditation and creativity. What's the book really about, then?
In a way, the whole book is a love song to Spirit. It's a joyful narration of how I learned to live, as the expression goes, as a divine being having a human experience. For it was during the time that I learned to meditate that I also learned about life beyond the five senses.
I'm a very strong clairvoyant, although I had no idea that was true until recently. But then I started working with metaphysical teacher Christine Agro and I learned to access my clairvoyance in a very strong, clear way. Wow! There's a whole other world to live in. So Tapping reflects that journey as well, as it was all happening at the same time.
So Tapping is part memoir, part self-help?
With poems! I've been a poet all my life, but the meditation space gives me a very clear connection to my muse--on a daily basis! Each day as I sat in the meditation space, the words would come. It was as if someone were writing the words through me. I share some of those poems in this book.
If you could change one thing about Tapping, what would it be?
I wouldn't use the word "tapping." When I wrote about it, I didn't know about Emotional Freedom Technique. It's not that kind of tapping.
If you could leave your readers with one thought after they finish Tapping, what would it be?
That we are so much more than five-sensory beings. We are human beings with an unbreakable connection to the divine, to Source energy. When we embrace and explore our inner divinity, everything in our lives change for the better. Especially our writing.
Can readers reach you if they have a question or comment?
