An Introduction to Spherical and Practical Astronomy
Dascom Greene
Originally published in 1891. PREFACE: The present volume is the result of an attempt to supply the want of a text-book adapted to the needs of students who wish to begin the study of spherical and practical astronomy, and who are prepared to do so by a sufficient acquaintance with the several branches of mathematics, and with the general principles of astronomy. It claims to be no more than an introduction to the subject, and aims to present its first principles in an elementary and practical form for the use of beginners. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900's and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive. We are republishing these classic works in affordable, high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.
