Brief Description: A magic bean and an ordinary boy solve a royal problem for King Blah Blah Blah. Brief Description: Cataloged under title in pre-publication. Marc Notes: A magic bean and an ordinary boy solve a royal problem for King Blah Blah Blah.; Ages 3-6. Publisher Marketing: When a king's pinky grows stinky, it is up to a smallish boy and a smallish pea to come up with a GIANT plan to save the kingdom--a fractured fairy tale from William Joyce and Moonbot Studios, the masterminds who brought you "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore." You might "think" you know the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, but you might want to think again. In this fairy tale with a twist, it hasn't rained in days and the king has dictated that something must be done--his royal pinky is getting stinky! With a little magic from a wizard, young Jack, paired with his pea pod pal, will find a GIANT reason as to why there's no water left in the kingdom...and prove that size doesn't prevent "anyone "from doing something BIG. Contributor Bio: Joyce, William William Joyce lives in Shreveport, Louisiana, with his lovely wife, Elizabeth, and their children, Mary Katherine and Jack. They also have a dachshund named Rose and something else named Rex. Mr. Joyce has produced two animated television shows based on his books: Rolie Polie Olie and George Shrinks. He also produced and designed the animated feature film Robots. Every once in a while he does a cover for The New Yorker. His alarmingly optimistic picture books include Dinosaur Bob and His Adventures with the Family Lazardo, Santa Calls, The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs, and Bently & Egg. He is currently futzing around on several books and stories that embrace the alleged healing power of heroically scaled silliness. Contributor Bio: Callicutt, Kenny Kenny Callicutt is a tallish artist. He honed his illustration skills at Virginia Commonwealth University and, since 2012, has been drawing and magicking at Moonbot Studios.
