Soaring Eagles

Soaring Eagles took place during the era from 1853 to1880. It tells in an up beat manner how people from meager backgrounds through dedication, determination and hard work climb the ladder of success. These were the Soaring Eagles, since they were able to see further and understand the long term needs of people, rather than having a short sightedness of immediate wealth in the hit and miss gold fields of California. As the story unfolds many characters, especially the main one are faced with adventure, mystery and adversity while undauntedly persevering to reach their goals. Social, economic, political and prejudicial problems are encountered as the main character lived through a period of social and technological up heavel, dominated by the Civil War, a transcontinental railroad, steamships and the telegraph. Yet the main character had time for a youthful romance which led to a happy marriage, children and the responsibilities that follow. Time, however, tended to muddle his original occupational objective, and he finds a new self?awareness which helps him to choose a more realistic and pleasurable pursuit, not ably that of a United States marshal. During those earlier years, he is exposed to different employment opportunities and not all of them to his liking. Many dangerous activities seemed to find him as if asking for help from one who is trustworthy and capable. Numerous social and economic problems were seeded during the eighteenth century, rooted in the nineteenth and matured to a lesser degree in the last century, and our main character is constantly exposed to them.
