Cornelia Meigs
Cornelia Lynde Meigs (also wrote as: Adair Aldon) (1884-1973) was an American author and educator. She became a professor of English at Bryn Mawr in 1932. She is best known for Invincible Louisa, a biography of author Louisa May Alcott, which won a Newbery Medal in 1934. She began writing children's books during her time as an English teacher at St. Katherine's School, where she worked between 1908 and 1913. Amongst her other works are Master Simon's Garden (1916), The Steadfast Princess (1916), The Windy Hill (1921), Rain on the Roof (1925), Swift Rivers (1937) and Wild Geese Flying (1957).
