He has had a significant impact on Chinese and Asian history and culture, both as the author of 'The Art of War' and as a legendary historical figure. Gaius Julius Caesar (d. 44 BC) was a Roman general, statesman, Consul, and notable author of Latin prose. Einhard (c. 770-840) was a Frankish scholar and courtier. He was a dedicated servant of Charlemagne and his son Louis the Pious. Niccolo di Bernardo dei Machiavelli (1469-1527) was a Florentine historian, politician, diplomat, philosopher, humanist, and writer during the Renaissance.
