Speak; a Collection of Poetry

Speak is a book of poetry, speeches and art work that reflect life's many transitions. The words spoken in this book are a reminder to speak out for those who are oppressed and realize that when we oppress others we are essentially starving ourselves. We must continue to speak up for ourselves and those around us. "Don't let fear keep you silenced" Timika Myers is a Black, Lesbian, Radical, Womyn. She is an Advocate, Activist and Warrior. Her passion lies in helping others and equipping them with the tools to empower themselves. She lives by the motto: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Spending most of her childhood and adult on the run in the bay area she has been able to see the effects of poverty, sadness and a world with no social conscious can have on the oppressed. Timika was introduced to poetry in her teens as an alternative outlet to dealing with her depression. Her first poem was titled: A Parent's Doom.
