This book of poems is a reflection of my great love for so many things in life, starting with my very dear and cherished biker husband, Frank Charbonneau, with whom I enjoyed thousands of miles of travel on our Harley. We also enjoyed our life in a log house perched high on a mountaintop and raised eight kids there in the summer and in Florida in the winter.
With my husband a Naval Commander for twenty-seven years, we were always "on the go," and I found plenty to write about to this day: our "cabin on the hill," my "very dear Dr. Caputo," our Harley rides; even a very noisy blue jay and my brother's death in WWII.
When I was a child, rhymes kept running through my head, and I would write them down. When I first met "Doc," I was so impressed by his loving concern. I wrote him a poem, thinking, He probably will never bother to read it; but how surprised I was when he showed me he had it laminated and it was hanging in his office! That encouraged me to write him a new one every time I went to see him, and one day, he suggested we put them all together in a book! This book depicts almost a complete story of my life with many of its joys and tears.
