Allegheny Petit is a wild and wicked woman, who loves to party. Her reputation has made her unmarriageable, at least in her hometown. Her father arranges a marriage for her with the son of his old army buddy. Jackson Parker is a hermit living in the lonely mountains of Tennessee, who wants a wife without having to go through the rituals of courtship. He's known far and wide for his violent temper.
