This Colour edition of the book provides a layman's general history of the Rathfarnham region, stretching as it does from the River Dodder at Pearse Bridge southwards to Rockbrook in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains. The book title commemorates the Harold clan, reputed to be of Danish origin, who inhabited much of the farmland in this locality, with their "Grange" located on present-day Marlay Park, and who are today remembered in placenames such as Harold's Grange, Harold's Grange Road, and nearby Harold's Cross. Many photos and some maps are included, and the topics range from schools, churches, mills, factories, business, golf courses, Marlay Park, St Enda's Park (Pearse Museum), to Rathfarnham Castle, Loreto Abbey, and much more.
