A Cree language book for kids.
Lana Whiskeyjack's research for the completion of the iyiniw pimâtisiwin kiskeyihtamowin Doctoral Program at UnBQ, which included the exploration of Indigenous conceptions of beauty.
The intention of the research was to define beauty from an Indigenous worldview, and remind generations of iskwewak (women) of their powerful roles, sacredness, and inherent connection to this land that we notâwîmâwaskiy.
The idea for this book sprang from many conversations, and much tea and bannock, throughout this process. The affirmations of this book are the collective voice that each iskwew contributed in the research.
