Mac can't explain it, but when he looks most people in the eye, he knows what they're thinking. Mac has used his unusual ability to stay under the radar for over nineteen years, ever since the night his best friend was murdered and the police labeled him a killer. Living under an assumed name, he's rebuilt his life as a mild-mannered international businessman who happens to earn his investment capital by hunting terrorists. He stands to lose everything, though, when a mafia boss decides to marry him off to his daughter. Mac has to find a way out of a marriage that would put his life in the FBI spotlight. But that quickly takes a backseat when his pursuit of a known bomber in Tunisia gets him captured by former CIA operative John Schafer, who has figured out how to make a dark-matter bomb undetectable by standard methods. Mac barely escapes with his life, when the murder of a mafia thug lands him in FBI custody. Mac must rely on his friends to clear his name, but when Schafer returns with the dark-matter bomb, the FBI, CIA, and Mac must set aside their mistrust to find a way to stop Schafer before he levels the city.
