A Traveler's Guide to the Afterlife

This nine-lesson group or self-study series on A Traveler's Guide to the Afterlife is part of an overall collection of 61 lessons that cover many of the fundamental Christian teachings and beliefs in a topical or thematic sense. This study guide covers the following topics: Introduction to the Afterlife, Death and the Mortality of Man, The Immortality of the Soul, The Intermediate State of the Dead, The Second Coming of Christ, The Resurrection of the Body, The Day of Judgment and Rewards, Hell and Eternal Destruction, and Heaven and Eternal Life. These topics cover what I refer to as the eschatology of the individual, as opposed to the eschatology of history, which is what many contemporary books on eschatology tend to focus on. My purpose for writing this book was to make that distinction because many books do not clarify the differences between what the Bible says about history versus what it says about the afterlife of the individual. This book seeks to do that. This updated and expanded edition adds a recommended reading list to each chapter and an index of Scriptures for each topic. Timothy Gordon (DMin, Southern Evangelical Seminary) is an adjunct instructor for the Biblical Studies Center in Boise, Idaho.
