This is a story about a little nine year old girl who comes home from school, only to find that her mother is missing. She has been detained by immigration authorities for overstaying her visa. Despite putting up a brave effort, she can't free her mother and turn back the clock to happier days. And the clock is ticking for her mother's deportation. She will have to make a tough decision. Give up on the American Dream and start all over again in a strange and different country or stay to pursue her dreams, without her mother. This story explores real and complex issues that happen in America today. It reinforces the supremacy and the need to obey the rule of law. It also teaches a very important lesson to all children. That no matter what, one should never give up or lose sight of the American Dream.
