The term 'ethno' refers to the components that make up a cultural identity of people - food, style of dress, values and more. The term 'academics' refers to the activities of schools. The combination of the two, says Ohio educator C. Jackson Howard, is an important missing component in the education of black males. C. Jackson Howard describes how understanding the term and learning to apply it across a variety of subjects, will result in a more enriching curriculum for students. Also incorporated are C. Jackson Howard's unique educational scripts known as 'Land Scene Setups' that deal with the psyche of black males in a positive way. Educators, parents and students will see how Howard's approach can be the missing piece of the puzzle many educators have been looking for to help boost the academic achievement among black males.
