Joseph Kony and the Titans of Zagreb

Stephen Chan's story leads from Uganda to Croatia, across a bridge of witches. These traumatised lands are peopled by corpses and spirits, and men in suits, and angels. Chan writes like a dream, but of nightmares, about peoples living on trauma. The guide on this journey is a Chinese Englishman, somewhat like the author, and an Indian, an outsider to all their troubles, bringing an outsider's desire to cut down evil with right.
