Jack and his mother are very poor. The only thing they own is an old cow. When the decided to sell the cow Jack was talked into trading the cow for some bean seeds. His mother became so mad she threw the seeds out the window and sent Jack to bed. Overnight the beans grew into a giant beanstalk. Jack climbs the beanstalk and finds himself in the home of a giant who has a hen that lays golden eggs. Jack grabs the hen and races down the beanstalk and chops it down before the giant can catch him.
