Germany of the Banoric Age is the heart of the Empire of the Teutones, which includes the German states, the Low Countries, the Scan countries and much of Eastern Europe. It is as well an amalgam of the Stone Age, the Iron Age, the Viking Age and the Medieval World. Unto this world comes Sagrim, who takes to Viking life like a Fish to water. But when he runs afoul of the powerful but decadent monarch who rules the Rheinland, he will have to call upon, as well as his own power, many powerful allies, including the blonde Giant Gorn, his sister, the unutterably beautiful Warrior-maiden Gayla, and a band of blood-thirsty Danish Vikings. But the greatest power of them all is the crude-appearing weapon known as the Bavarian Axe.
