A memoir about friendship and loss, illustrated with black and white pencil drawings. Written by an artist and mom, this story begins in the present, and moves backwards and forwards through time. At times the author reaches back to her girlhood, at about the same age her youngest child is currently. Includes recipes and song lyrics, musings about small town island day-to-day life and bigger questions about self worth and belonging.
