He previously translated Bazin's work in the volumes Bazin at Work, Andre Bazin and Italian Neorealism, and French Cinema from the Liberation to the New Wave. Cardullo's recent books include Theories of the Avant-Garde Theatre: A Casebook from Kleist to Camus, Stage and Screen: Adaptation Theory from 1916 to 2000, and Regarding the Cinema: Fifteen Filmmakers and Their Films.
