Classic Tales: Enormous Turnip Beginner level 1

The "Classic Tales" books offer familiar stories, featuring characters such as Cinderella and Snow White. Full-colour illustrations aim to stimulate children's interest in the story and help them to follow the storyline. Suitable both for reading aloud to a whole class, or for individual reading, there is a glossary in each book with illustrations and examples to help with unfamiliar words. Activities and puzzles encourage children to look more closely at the text and enable the teacher to monitor comprehension. Accompanying cassettes increase students' enjoyment of the stories, and develop listening and pronunciation skills. The "Big Books" are large format editions for the classroom teacher to introduce the Classic Tale to the class before students read the story individually.
