A Guidebook for Searchers: is There Really Evidence Behind Faith? 2nd edition

A Guidebook For Searchers, Agnostics, Doubters, and Followers

At Last, Real Answers for Real People!

This book was written for the searcher, the person who wants true spirituality, but is sincerely struggling with the important questions about life and God. It was also written for the believer who may be struggling with doubts. Part of the enemy?s strategy is to toss doubts into the believer?s pathway causing them to become sidetracked and thus ineffective for God.

A Message for Searchers

Searchers come in all forms. Some searchers are young and just beginning their journey, and some are old and have been searching for a very long time.

Searchers are people who are on a quest. They are explorers, but they are not exploring merely for the sake of the journey. It is a seemingly unquenchable thirst for the truth. They believe the truth is out there and can be known, but they are not always sure where to look or even where to begin looking.

Often searchers are secretly hoping they will not find the truth. The greatest fear of some is that the truth they are seeking will lead them to the God of the Bible. Many are really hoping to find the answer in a hobby, or a relationship, or a career, or the latest self-help book, or some new achievement, or community service, or anywhere else. But they have often been disappointed in the shallowness of these things and that is why they are still searching.

This book is for searchers, agnostics, honest skeptics, doubting Thomas, and committed followers. While it is in no way meant to be exhaustive or even highly intellectual, it does interact with five questions most often asked by searchers.

If you are a searcher, it might encourage you to know that you are not alone in your journey. Many people have gone before you and some have even left some helpful markers along the way. It might also encourage you to know that God is excited that you are searching and He has some special promises for you. The Bible says God ?rewards those who earnestly seek Him? (Hebrews 11:6). Jesus called searchers ?blessed? or ?happy? and promised, ?Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be satisfied? (Matthew 5:6 NASB).

Every good explorer needs some good tools and resources. It is my hope that this book will be one source of information and ready reference that will help you discover what your soul is craving and perhaps prepare you for an even greater journey.
